Your care hire generally covers you for collision damage waiver and theft. In most agreements you are still liable for the first portion of repair or replacement costs otherwise known as the excess, which can very from €100 up to €2,000. If the car is damaged the car rental company will charge your credit card for the excess amount and you then claim for reimbursement on your policy.
